All students must meet the Requirements for the micro-Certificate of Graduate Study (mCGS)
Overview
The 12-credit micro-Certificate of Graduate Study in Education for Sustainability (EFS) provides preK-12, postsecondary, and informal educators as well as those working in museum education, outdoor education, parks and recreation—and other fields where natural and built environments are part of the curriculum—with the knowledge and skills to empower learners in making positive changes in their communities while shifting societies to improve the quality of life for current and for future generations. Designed in partnership with the Shelburne Farms Institute for Sustainable Schools, this certificate features an innovative co-teaching arrangement and scholarship opportunities to reduce costs for graduate students. Students completing this micro-certificate will develop a strong practical and theoretical foundation in action research, transformative education, youth leadership, and education for sustainability.
Specific Requirements
REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO GRADUATE STUDIES FOR THE micro-CERTIFICATE OF GRADUATE STUDY
- Completed bachelor’s degree
- Completed Graduate College Application
- Official transcripts from each college of university where credit has been earned
- Three letters of recommendation
