Overview
The Master of Science in Agroecology is a fully online program, designed to address the urgent need for food system transformation in the face of climate disruption, biodiversity loss, and food insecurity. The program prepares students to co-create just, resilient, and ecologically sound food systems. Drawing on agroecology’s holistic and systems-based approach, the program integrates ecological science, participatory research, and food systems analysis.
Students complete required coursework and spend one semester designing and researching a final project.

Comprehensive Examination
There is a required comprehensive exam that involves a written component and oral defense of the Master’s Project or Thesis Proposal.
Requirements for Advancement to Candidacy for the Degree of Master of Science
Satisfactory completion of all degree requirements and the Comprehensive Exam.
