MED 5010. Bio Med Entrep: Case Studies. 3 Credits.
Offers an in-depth exploration of biomedical entrepreneurship, combining real-world case studies of both successful and failed ventures. Examines critical business, regulatory, and scientific factors that influence the trajectory of biomedical startups. Provides a practical, case-based foundation for developing entrepreneurial skills in the biomedical industry. Students will learn practical, theoretical insights and the course will equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex biomedical innovation landscape. Prerequisites: Graduate student, minimum Junior standing, or Honors College sophomore with Instructor permission.
MED 5011. BioMedEntrep:ConceptToVenture. 3 Credits.
Designed to equip aspiring biomedical entrepreneurs with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to evaluate biomedical technologies, develop business models, engage in customer discovery, refine a Target Product Profile (TPP), and craft a compelling pitch for a new venture. Using real-world methodologies such as the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) framework, I-Corps Customer Discovery, and the Business Model Canvas, this course guides participants through the process of turning biomedical innovations into viable business Opportunities. Prerequisites: Graduate student, minimum Junior standing, or Honors College Sophomore with Instructor Permission.

On-site supervised work experience combined with a structured academic learning plan directed by a faculty member or a faculty-staff team in which a faculty member is the instructor of record, for which academic credit is awarded. Offered at department discretion.

A course which is tailored to fit the interests of a specific student, which occurs outside the traditional classroom/laboratory setting under the supervision of a faculty member, for which credit is awarded. Offered at department discretion.
